World Liver Day – 2020

In the current COVID-19 crisis showing kindness and supporting each other is key. This World Liver Day, Hepatitis Victoria/LiverWELL invites you to be kind to your hardest working organ – your liver.

Tips to be kind to your liver

Support your liver health while at home for extended periods of time, with reduced access to loved ones, support networks and the outdoors by:

Eating WellWe’re all cooking more. Check out LiverWELL’s Eating Well Guide. It includes tips for a liver healthy diet, as well as more than a dozen, easy to prepare recipes. Learn more about diet and liver health.
Getting Active
Maintaining a healthy weight is good for your liver. Learn more about the benefits of getting active.

The Victorian Government’s This Girl Can campaign includes advice to start an at home exercise program.

Sports Australia’s Find Your 30 Challenge has great tips for exercising indoors.
Feeling WellLooking after your social and emotional wellbeing is very important. Visit Beyond Blue for tips and strategies for a range of support tools that have been designed for our current situation.

Quality rest supports your liver’s function. The Sleep Foundation have tools to help improve the quality of your sleep.
Drink AwareNotice that you’re drinking more alcohol than usual? Drinking too much can impact adversely on your liver health. View these tips if you want to cut down.
